Beauty is not skin deep

But it was all plastic. Though they seemed confident, they lacked the sense of authority one conveys when he/she is speaking his/her mind.

Two days ago in a Leadership training program, we were doing an activity that the facilitator wanted us to do. There was a list of 10 people who were on a sinking ship and we were to decide the 7 of the people whom we wanted to save. One of the coices was a Miss Universe. The 38 odd batch was divide into 5 groups. Each group had its list and explanations.

But one thing was common..all of us had eliminate the Miss Universe. Apparently all of us considered them a waste of human energy and life. Even an ex-convict(wrongly imprisioned) and a criminal witness were debated but not the case of the miss universe. yes i remember one of the participants say that they are representatives of a nation and should be treated with greater respect. But that was shot down as quick as a dead duck..

What ever, I was enjoying the the nth viewing of "Rang de Basanti" on the TV and during a commerciall break I changed over a channel that was showing the Gladrags Super Model Contest. And the above were some of the dialogues the participants were giving as introduction. Not really a human material, as i would see, but I have a different philosophy.

Beauty is not skin deep. A fit and and fine human being is a treat to your eye and something to be prooud of. But that is not something to be leveraged on for useless purposes. Beauty lies in the line of thought a person decides to follow. Beauty lies in the way a person faces the challenges. Beauty lies in the way a persondecides to choose the people around him the way he/she treats them. Beauty lies in the kind of fears a person decides to fight. beauty. beauty lies in the way a life a person decides to choose.

And such a person I dont think wishes for the crown of beauty or that of a supremodel. Any time you meet such a person. Try to know him/her. Admire and if you can, help in any way you and you have made your life more valueable.
