Jago re

How may times have I wished that the Voter Registration process was bit simpler. I wonder how many of you have a voter ID card. By the time we pass out of Engineering colleges, we start thinking of a Passport but a Voter ID...nope..

But as far I understood this is how things work. In my ancestral village, where my parents are on the voter list, the local agent of the political party takes the pain to make sure that my name came up on the voter list as soon as I turned 18!!!!!!!!! WHY? It is quite simple, I never manage to be present and someone stamps one extra vote and drops in the ballot box in MY name...

I did not even know if I could transfer my name to the city where I stay.

Well the election fever is rising in India (my short visit was marked with great political drama in my home state and I could feel all the excitement of being a part of the greatest democracy of the world). A friend of mine has put a status message saying "jaago re - voter registration done" The last time I had seen her get crazy about the Lead India campaign, so I was just wondering what she is upto this time and this led me to Jaagore site.

It's a must visit. Get some fundas cleared about elections and your voting rights. And do take this chance to register yourself if your are not yet registered.
