Pay it forward

May be the name says it all.. may be not.. Well i just watched a movie by this name.
The theme is simple.. if have an act of kindness done to you.. pass it on.. you pay back by paying it forward.

I see no point in writing about the theme.. there is already so much on it on the web..
This the movie i am talking about

This is the foundation run by the author of the book on which the movie has been made

Well if you like to track it down, you can have a look at this page from wikipedia.. as you may expect the thought goes back a long time.

And then there are so many weird things.. someone decided to play it as a game.. a very well meaning game.. you can join it here.

But i am more interested in writing how i felt watching the movie. I loved it..made me think.. Did i ever pay it forward... did i ever start an act of kindness. May be nothing big.. May be the other day i stopped my bike to give that kid a lift to his school.. on my way to office.. may be nothing bigger than that... and i swear i was happy. because i did something i did not have to do.

but it has to come spontaneously.. you don't start your day saying i am going to find someone and be kind to him. And it does come sometimes but most of the time we are callous to what is happening around us. I was wondering what triggers these actions.. and why are these triggers so rare..

What is without doubt is that each one of us is capable of doing it. And we do it.. think back and you might remember.. And if you can't , may be it's been a long time.. or may be you are too good to remember or have too many to remember.. Well then try to remember where you received an act of kindness.. someone helped you .. just like that..

i think just being conscious of my ability to be kind is a start point.. and accepting that i have been at the receiving end just adds up... i wish to pay it forward, as often as i can.
