"Cogito Ergo Sum" This has been my tag line since a long long time. I thoroughly believe in it. So when suddenly someone asks me to do the contrary.... Guess what.... I begun to think :)
Well this is how it all began. Last Weekend, in preparation for an impending attack of cold and fever, I had planned nothing except for ensuring that I picked up a book on my way home on friday. I somehow decided to pick up a Self Help book after a long time. And the book that I chose was "The Power of Now - by Eckhart Tolle.
I am stuck just 25 pages into the book. The first chapter reads "You are not your mind" So while he is trying to make a point about what enlightement is, the main theme is Freeing yourself from your mind. So when he asks questions like why should you be addicted to thinking...my thinking mind made me stop and take a break. May be I am addicted to thinking.. may be a lot of us are.. And I am sure there have been times you have wished this perpetual machine just stops for some time. From Meditation to intoxication to sheer physical exhaustion, you might have tried several ways to achieve this. May be he has a point.
Have not yet been able to resolve this. And I have decided not to return to the book till I clear this thing up. Till then Long live Descartes and his words..
Meanwhile this weekend, managed to get my hands on a book called "Mind of a Strategist"
Let's see how it goes..
