The kite runner: end notes

Loved the book. Quite simple narrative but holds your attention completely. The first part mostly because it was describing Kabul and childhood fun of two kids and what's running on their minds...the latter part because it was describing a person fighting with his shortcomings...How life continues to give you a chance to stand up and face it .... and until you do it there is no liberation.

To me what I would always remember The Kite Runner is with this line...

"For You, A thousand times Over.."

One of the lines that would just stick on to your mind for years...

I sat thinking if I have ever said it to anyone. Or felt like telling to anyone. Or may be If I can tell it to anyone...

The answer was Yes..and I am so happy about it..

The few emotions that Khaled has brought our really well and appealed to me were...

  • The unquestioning loyalty of Hassan for Amir...
  • The eagerness of Amir to earn the respect of his father....
  • The feeling of happiness Amir gets when he wins the Kite Fight...
  • The final decision of Amir to face life and go back into Kabul...
  • The friendship of Rahim Khan that kept on a secret for years...
Seems Khaled hosseini has come up with another book called "a thousand splendid suns"
I guess it would take some time to reach the footpaths of Bangalore...my hunting area :)
