What a book: The inscrutable Americans

Almost half way through and I am thinking why the hell did he write this piece...
Absolutely avoidable. The authors try at wittism clearly makes you feel bad about yourself. You start thinking, Man someone expects me to find this funny...

The book is about a guy from India who goes to America for his degree and the culture shock he finds there. I kept wondering, "Is he stereotyping the Indians or the americans?"

May be i got my hands on this one really late. Seems like speaking of a world in different times (80s) i guess. People still ask Gopal (our main charachter) if people ride elephants even in the night and if they have headlights and indicators, and people still mention about PL480. I guess people of my gen have'nt heard of it. That was a time when India received food aid (1955-71) from US. There's a occasion where a kid comes and brushes his finger on Gopals arms to check if it is his skin colour or dust that has settled on him!!!!!!!!!!

Whatever... if you have taste for silly wit OR u r caught up with nothing else except this book on some island.. go ahead and read this.
