Odds of winning an Academy Award: 1 in 11,500
Odds of bowling a 300 game: 1 in 11,500
Odds that I get hit by a lightening: 1 in 5000
Odds of getting arthritis: 1 in 7
So much about statistics and probability... But I searched these figures becuase I am given an equally funny figure every now and then by our family astrologer..
A score of 28.5 on 36!!!! I said what does that mean. He said astrology is not an exact science. It is the probability that your marraige will be successful to this girl. Back in my mind I was converting the figure into a probability. Why...this is 79.16 % chances.. Converting that into odds..
Odds of this relationship succeeding: 1 in 1.2 Wow.. I now take a look and say, considering that I won't be doing 1.2 marraiges...this almost sure to succeed.. isn't it??
And I was so happy...untill I stumbled upon this..
Something more rakish..a bit more exciting...Russian Roulette..
Odds that I would still be standing after I pull the trigger 1 in 1.2
Coincidence!!!!!!!! That's frightening isn't it?? :D
So I stopped this analysis and decided to stick my decision of stubbornly ignoring anything to do with stars planet and my fate :)

how did the relationship worked out to be 1/1.2. i guess this is equivalent to a russian roulette but no of barrels are larger than 6. U can be lucky enough to keep pulling triggers for several times until u forget there is a bullet and this is quite vicious!
