Just finished watching a movie called 'The president is coming'. A friend suggested it to me a couple of days back and I don't think I would have otherwise picked up this movie. Made by first timer and starring no big names, this movie give you a nice surprise..
The plot is simple. The president George Bush is coming to India and will shake hands with ONE young Indian. The story is that of selection of that young Indian.
Six contestants are shortlisted. The six contestants are Maya Roy India's best young Writer, Ajay Karlekar India's best young Social Activist, Archana Kapoor India's best young Indian Entrepreneur, Rohit Seth Call Center Accent Trainer, Kapil Dev Dholakia India's best young Stock Investor, Ramesh S Software Engineer. Maya Roy (Konkona Sen Sharma). She is one of the 6 contestants in a talent contest, who will stop at nothing to be the person to represent New India in front of the visiting US President, George Bush.
The movie is absolutely hilarious, the caricatures are stunning. Especially Ajay Karlekar and Kapil Dev.. You will probably laugh your guts out like me...
Towards the end, there is a bit of dark streak that you may not like but overall a different piece of work and I appreciate that. Go for it..It's an absolute must watch..
