What Kalam meant to me???
May be he did not really touch my day to day life. May be he did not really make me change my ideas radically. May be he did not make me give in extra effort for my country.
But still he is a person I was proud of. Proud to say that he is the president of my country. Truly speaking he did affect my life. He was a true leader for me, for he provided thought leadership. For he said “Dream…Dream leads to thought and thoughts lead to action.” When he says, I feel like listening. What he has done, is worth emulating. What he represents is worth achieving.
May be I felt he rightly represented what I feel India should represent. Meritocracy, Knowledge, excellence and epitome of India’s self reliance. But as it said, Exception Proves the rule…it can never be the rule. So another politician becomes the President of India and like many other Indians I come back to my senses. May be even Shobha De becoming the president would have given me a lesser heart burn.
Whatever…since I can do nothing about it…except putting my thoughts about it out here. I should be contended with that. Kalam would be at Anna University day after tomorrow resuming his role as a teacher. What else could one have expected… let this Karmayogi live on and continue to inspire us all.
