I was watching this talk by Amy Cuddy from TED (Amy Cuddy: Your body language shapes who you are). Here is the crux of the talk in a few lines.
Our body language is normally a reflection of how we are feeling. Amy and her team of researchers carried out studies to figure out if it works the other way round. In her words,
But as a bunch of people who facilitate often, have any of you tried PowerPosing just before a session. OR using a typical Power stance to rein-in a conversation. Do you see people in your team take up power poses during a conversation with predictable results?
